Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

High-profile, Raleigh based company seeks a Senior Accountant to join their rapidly growing Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the company's Financial Reporting function and is a key member of the accounting & finance teams. The successful candidate will work closely with the company's executives as well as key management, and must possess strong financial reporting, investor relations, and analytical skills.


  • Prepare timely and accurate month, quarter and year-end closing and variance analysis of corporate financials.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial and business related analysis in such areas as month-end close, process improvements, SOX controls, and financial reporting
  • Preparation and presentation of budget summaries to various levels of management including senior leaders.
  • Implementation of finance and accounting policy changes.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports for inclusion in the company's 10Q and 10K
  • Assist with the budget process for corporate cost centers as well as preparing and reporting the budget for all corporate ledgers.
  • Provide internal reports and other financial support for various department managers.
  • Assist with the preparation of the monthly forecast process
  • Lead the maintenance and development of robust and efficient financial consolidation and planning systems.
  • Ad-hoc reporting as required

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or
  • 5-8 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or Public Accounting with in-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Large ERP experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting, forecasting, US GAAP, SOX and other common accounting practices.
