Our private equity client is seeking for a bright and resourceful accountant to provide accounting, operational, and financial analysis support for their Houston, Texas (with travel to St. Thomas monthly). In this role, you will cover a wide range of accounting tasks, which will include:


• GAAP basis financial statement preparation including consolidated financial statements for many entities;


• analyze, reconcile and record the investment activities (including equities, debt, options, private equity and hedge fund investments);


• assist in the preparation of valuation materials and in monitoring of valuation procedures;


• financial audit liaison with public accounting firms;


• assist with information requests for tax return preparation;


• informal internal audits; and


• various ad hoc projects.

Requirements Include:


• Current CPA (any state).


• Experience - at least 5 years in one of the following areas:

o Auditor for a national accounting firm or privately held company; or

o A similar accounting/audit role for high-net-worth individuals or a family office.


• At least 2 years of experience with investment reconciliation/tracking including options and private equity.


• Superior English verbal and written communication skills.


• Attention to detail and discretion.


• Strong problem-solving, financial analysis and research abilities.


• Flexibility to tackle novel and varied projects.


• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and QuickBooks; family office management software experience a plus. Your skills in this area will be tested prior to an offer being extended.
