We are currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant for an established and growing company in Richmond. This position will work with a strong accounting/finance team, report to the Controller, and will have significant exposure to executive management and departments across the company.


  • Assists with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting including annual footnotes ensuring quality and adhering to a strict timeline.
  • Review monthly/quarterly financial reports (profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flows, general ledger) for accuracy and completeness before distribution to lenders, investors and interdepartmental use.
  • Provides technical accounting US GAAP guidance and support for all company activities and entities including corporate, JV, and consolidated.
  • Evaluates new accounting pronouncements, including new lease standard, advises and implements changes needed.
  • Analyze financial data for variances and provide explanations and/or corrective action to ensure financial reporting is in line with US GAAP.
  • Assist with enhancing and implementing policies, internal controls, accounting policy, and procedures.
  • Perform analysis of key performance indicators and variances
  • Assist Controller with planning, directing and coordinating accounting functions including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Review of capital expenditure requests to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Preparation of detailed balance sheet, income statement and cash flow information for budget and forecasts
  • Assist with internal controls and SOX compliance
  • Performs special projects as may be assigned by the Controller or Chief Financial Officer.


  • BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusion, and execute solution.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage several projects simultaneously
  • Strong system skills including with ERP systems and MS Excel.
