Job Description

role is instrumental in the creation of quarterly SEC reports and is a part of the Corporate Controllers group. Responsibilities will be primarily focused on the day-to-day coordination and preparation of elements of SEC filings. The position requires an individual with an accounting degree or relevant accounting experience who is able to leverage prior experience into fresh ideas and concepts. The role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to different business partners and stakeholders of the company, develop a greater understanding of SEC reporting processes and requirements, and develop a stronger understanding of business results. This position reports to the Manager of SEC Reporting.

Job Responsibilities

SEC Filings -- Form 10-K/10-Q

Contribute to the overall preparation of the consolidated financial statements including preparation of certain footnote disclosures and management discussion & analysis (MD&A) Assist in the implementation of new disclosure requirements and benchmark disclosures against peers Use analytical skills to ensure that statements and disclosures are prepared accurately and in accordance with GAAP Work with business units (e.g., automotive finance, insurance, mortgage, etc.) to obtain required information and understand results and changes in the business Prepare supporting information from SAP, business units and other sources to facilitate the financial statement preparation process Assist in 10-K/10-Q document review and serve as a liaison with external auditor, internal audit services function, and financial controls group Review and maintain the department's distribution lists, quarterly task lists, electronic team room, and SAP updates

Complete special projects and ad-hoc requests Assist in the preparation of various committee materials


BS/BBA degree in Accounting 3+ years previous related work experience SEC reporting experience and/or public accounting background strongly preferred CPA preferred but not required Strong core accounting, analytical, decision making, and problem solving skills Strong organization and project management skills, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team Ability to communicate effectively--both in writing and verbally Ability to influence others and work effectively in a cross-functional environment Attention to detail Leadership ability and the capacity to anticipate and develop new processes with minimal direction Proficient computer skills including knowledge of MS Office applications and intermediate technical skills related to accounting applications
