Job Description

Title: Senior Accountant

Summary
* Proactively contribute to managing the month-end close process (such as, bank reconciliations, accruals, closing entries).
* Prepare trial balance variance analysis for various upper tier, fund and investment entities.
* Review project level draws, monitor budget to actual and budget adjustments, track unit closings for loan funding, reporting and distribution to management.
* Prepare quarterly models within required timeframes for accuracy. Maintain and reconcile investment equity accounts and return calculations.
* Facilitate monthly NOI distribution process from various projects.
* Responsible for preparation of quarterly investor and JV partner financial statements and reports for senior management.
* Reconcile due to/from affiliates between multiple entities.
* Work with investors on reporting requirements on a monthly and quarterly basis, as well as upon request.
* Support and manage treasury relationships and routine inquiries from project-level users.
* Assist and act as a resource for audits and tax preparation for projects and firm.
* Prepare loan covenant work-papers and consultant reports.
* As a team contributor, create and streamline processes to improve accuracy and time management of current procedures.
* Contributes to a culture of accurate and service excellence as a role model and mentor to others.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* Minimum 5+ years mid-level financial experience, preferably in real estate or public accounting
* Highly proficient in MS Office, additional software programs such as Yardi or similar real estate software, a plus
* College degree or equivalent experience
* Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, self-starter, and research skills
* Proven track record working in a "contributor culture"
* Solid communication skills and comfortable ability to connect with multiple levels of team/external audiences
* Previous experience working with external auditors and/or tax accountants
