Senior Accountant for Healthcare Organization $68-79K

Our client is looking for a senior accountant with for there organization.

The position will wear a lot of hats and touch a lot of departments.

The accountant is responsible for the development and implementation of best accounting practices and controls to ensure compliance with company standards and with appropriate federal and state regulatory bodies. The manager is responsible for providing accounting support to internal customers based on assigned geographical location and/or company structure. The incumbent also manages certain major functional accounting areas companywide.
Accountant acts as liaison with various third parties including but not limited to landlords, financial institutions, hospital districts, consulting and auditing firms, and regulatory agencies.

Job Duties:
Manages direct reports in the month-end and year-end close process including the analysis of financial statement variances and system issues.
Supports Divisional and District finance teams or Field Support teams in resolving accounting issues.
Supports other departments (Accounts Payable, Clinical Billing, Payroll, Human Resources, Reimbursement, Tax, Corporate Finance, Legal, Real Estate, etc.) regarding accounting and reporting requirements, the proper treatment of related transactions, and resolution of accounting and system issues.
Have experience with fixed assets accounting.
Actively participates in the annual financial statement audit and semi-annual bank examinations.
Performs analysis and reconciliations of financial information from the account level to the financial statement level to ensure information is reliable, accurate, and properly stated in accordance with company policy, State and Federal regulations, and GAAP.

Job Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or like type major or experience
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience
  • Solid GAAP experience and a solid supervisory background working with skill levels
  • Proven ability to be a team player
  • Manage the workflow of personnel to ensure that critical deadlines and project objectives are
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong questioning and problem-solving skills. Ability to exercise independent judgment.
