In this role, you will be a key player in the success of the company and help to foster and build new and current relationships. You will be working in both areas of audit and accounting projects and related tax returns and planning. You will also participate in project planning as well as mentoring and training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with supervising the staff assigned to audit projects to ensure that schedules, budgets, and quality requirements are met
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure compliance to GAAP and company policies
  • Prepare different tax returns, including S-Corps, C-Corps, and Partnerships
  • Provide monthly and quarterly bookkeeping services for clients, including preparing journal entries, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures
  • Calculate depreciation rates and maintain fixed asset schedule, including new additions, disposals, and records related depreciation expenses to client general ledger
  • File various business licenses, ad valorem, and sales tax returns with appropriate state and local jurisdictions
  • Work closely with clients to gather financial information and provide consulting services to clients surrounding business and tax issues
  • Process and prepare semi-monthly payroll for clients including appropriate withholdings and deductions
  • Monitor budgets for projects and notify management when a project grows out of scope or is moving toward a budget overage
  • Communicate the project status with the partner/manager and the client on a timely and consistent basis
  • Perform any research needed to ensure the latest up to date principles, regulations, laws, and standards are met

Skills and Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA certificate is preferred
  • 3-7 years of experience (preferably in public accounting)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good research skills
  • Ability to comprehend complex auditing, accounting, and tax concepts
  • Good leadership skills and ability to supervise others
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel and other accounting software
