Position Purpose

The Senior Accountant will assist in month end close, consolidated financial statement preparation and reporting, budgeting, forecasting and special projects. The ideal candidate will need to be a self-starter with the ability to shift focus and priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment. They will need a strong attention to detail and can-do attitude to support the company's accounting function. Additionally, this role will interact cross-functionally across global business leaders including but not limited to Operations, Accounting and HR and will routinely provide ad-hoc analysis for senior financial leadership. The ideal candidate will have deep analytical skills, an interest in financial data systems and processes along with a desire for consistent improvement.

Duties, Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Assist in monthly and annual financial close process including preparation and review of financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations on various corporate accounts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of the financial statements, as well as, providing support on the accounting for certain transactions.
  • Monitor monthly budgeting and forecasting revenues and expenses.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including "Budget vs. Actual" variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in preparation of audit requests as needed.
  • Perform accounting research on various technical accounting concepts as needed.
  • Assist with internal control projects and ad-hoc financial analysis and projects.
  • Assist in responding to inquiries from the Director of Accounting, Controller, other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
  • Work with internal Finance, Accounting and Tax Departments.
  • Work with external Auditors.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
  • BA Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 + years of hands-on experience in accounting and financial analysis. CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
  • Proficient in using and understanding Microsoft Excel with a general knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication are essential.
