A South Bay retailer is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst to join their team in this newly created position. Reporting to the Controller (while also supporting the Director of Finance), the Senior Accounting Analyst will own the general ledger and perform account, flux, and variance analysis. She or he will also assist with budgeting, fixed assets, and collaborate with the AP and AR teams. The Senior Accounting Analyst who succeeds in this role will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and has excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. What do you need for this Senior Accounting Analyst role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (must have experience in public accounting and/or CPA)
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting, and finance principles

What will you be doing in this Senior Accounting Analyst role?

  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes
  • Assist with annual budgeting
  • Accounting research and drafting memoranda
  • GL and bank reconciliations, daily cash reporting, and journal entries
  • Account, flux, and variance analysis
  • Amortizations, depreciation, and review fixed assets
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, systems, and process improvement
  • Management reporting
  • AR reporting
  • Create and implement new internal controls
  • Apply accounting policies within various company departments, and assist them with accounting issues
