Vaco Atlanta has an immediate need for a Credit and Collections Specialist in the East Cobb area of Marietta. To be considered, prior credit and collections experience in the construction industry is required or experience filing tax liens (court proceedings etc) will be considered. Job Description Summary

  • Operate within the guidelines and requirements of the company credit policy
  • Review, establish, and process credit terms and applications for customers
  • Set credit lines for new customers and monitor assigned accounts based on current financial information, business history and current credit reports
  • Initiate collection calls on high maintenance and high exposure accounts
  • Meet with General Counsel monthly to review ongoing legal matters
  • Handle all legal actions such as filing liens, lawsuits, and court appearances when necessary
  • Review aging report on a weekly basis and lead quarterly A/R meetings
  • Prepare monthly comments regarding over 60-day accounts
  • Research and respond to all accounts receivable inquiries in a prompt manner
  • Research discrepancies to accurately process, issue, and post credits/debits to customer accounts
  • Review daily listing of on-hold orders and release according to company procedures
  • Review unapplied payments report and apply cash to proper invoices on assigned accounts
  • Pull PO's for customers who require them to be attached to invoices and mail out on a daily basis
  • Send out all notice to contractors on commercial jobs to G/C's that are using sub-contractors

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 1+ years credit and collections experience in construction industry or in collections incorporating the filing of liens at the local courthouse
  • Knowledge of lien waivers and laws
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Proficient in Windows with strong Excel skills
  • Proficient in use of CMIC or similar accounting system a plus
