Senior Financial Analyst - Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, Operations Finance is responsible for finance activities including, month-end close, monthly KPIs and cost savings initiatives tracking, variance reporting, monthly forecast process, interfacing with Operations leads to assist in explaining variance drivers, assisting in creating annual budget, participating in various ad-hoc reporting as required, etc.

Performs job duties consistent within safety, legal and regulatory requirements; company standards, culture and business practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare management reports emphasizing historical results, budgets, forecasts and trends
  • Produce variance reports with variance explanations
  • Support in preparation of monthly forecast
  • Perform analysis and reports in support of finance and sales and marketing organization
  • Prepare presentations using charts/graphs/tables for Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team
  • Utilize Business Intelligence system (Cognos) for various ongoing and ad-hoc reporting
  • Perform business plan case review for financial viability as needed
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel
  • FP&A experience, Operations Finance experience is a plus
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint (Mekko is a plus)
  • Knowledge of Cognos
  • Knowledge of Great Plains is a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of financial statements and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with senior executives
  • Self-driven and motivated

Education/Experience

In order to accomplish the essential duties of this position, the incumbent must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or General Business. Strongly prefer experience in Finance, particularly Financial Planning & Analysis. CPA is a plus.
