Job Description

Vaco Financial is assisting our Memphis based client in their search for a Senior Financial Analyst.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform monthly and quarterly variable and guarantee compensation calculation and payment preparation to employees and sales leaders.
  • Update and utilize data in sales roster tools which maintain records of comp plan details used to apply policies and calculate compensation.
  • Ensure compensation for new hires, position changes, terminations, leaves of absence, etc. are properly addressed.
  • Prepare variable compensation payout summaries for review and final approval.
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly compensation statements.
  • Field and respond to compensation related questions from the sales force.
  • Provide compensation analysis for monthly accruals as part of month end close.
  • Prepares files to upload payment information to Payroll accurately and timely.
  • Work closely with Sales Reporting, Customer Service, HR and Sales Operations to assure accuracy of sales data used to calculate compensation, and to ensure communication to sales force and policy documentation is accurate.
  • Develop scalable processes for calculating sales compensation with a focus on process improvement.
  • Prepares and oversees journal entries, reconciliations and SOX documentation.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of financial systems and business processes. Provide ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Other projects and analysis as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • 4 - 8 years' experience in Sales Operations, Sales Compensation, financial analysis or an equivalent combination of work related experience
  • Strong detail orientation, accuracy and ability to solve problems through analytical reasoning
  • Experience in business analysis including issue tracking, problem resolution and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort leading small group presentations
  • Solid work ethic with a high level of energy; can take a "roll-up-the-sleeves" approach
  • Ability to distill large amounts of data into useful analysis
  • Very organized, able to manage a large volume of work accurately in a short amount of time and meet deadlines
  • Able to navigate easily and quickly through complex payment requirements
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including but not limited to functions, pivot tables
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related fields
  • CPA or MBA is a plus
