Job Description

Vaco is seeking a Senior Financial Business Analyst for a great client in the Smyrna area. This role is designed to support the accounting and financial reporting requirements of the firm. This is a Direct Hire opportunity with a target salary range of $70-$80k + bonus depending on experience.

Job Duties:
  • Perform financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions including preparing annual budget, forecasting, analyzing historical financial statements, identifying risks within financial statement categories, and tracking key performance indicators
  • Conduct thorough monthly reviews of financial statement line items
  • Research variances on financial statements in order to provide substantive explanations and generate adjusting journal entries as needed
  • Function as a data scientist in order to research and analyze critical financial data
  • Improve organizational workflows through process optimization
  • Prepare and distribute financial statements and secondary reports on a monthly basis in preparation for financial review meetings
  • Respond to inquiries from Corporate, Sales, and Supply Chain management in relation to financial analysis. Serve as a liaison to department leads in the context of financial data
  • Develop process narratives and company policy documents pertaining to financial reporting and accounting functions
  • Assist Manager and Accounting group as required
  • Special projects as requested

Minimum Qualifications / Additional Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience
  • Tech savvy
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP
  • Above average technology skills to efficiently utilize data and technology resources
  • Self-starter who relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • High level of organization and task execution
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and in a high-volume and changing environment
  • Demonstrates consistency, flexibility, and commitment to meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
