Position Scope / Focus Summary

Working as part of a small team, the Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), will be responsible for providing innovative, meaningful and timely financial and management information to the Senior Manager, FP&A as part of the groups support to Senior Management.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day financial analysis and support to the Senior Manager FP&A
  • Responsible for analysis of the divisions financial information in a manner that drives actions
  • Develop the processes and systems for collecting, analyzing and presenting management and business information - assist in developing a vision for state of the art FP&A systems
  • Assist in the divisions annual budgeting, forecasting and financial projection processes
  • As appropriate, provide financial support to Motorparts financial and operational projects
  • Provide financial planning and analysis support to the Controllers office including
  • Assist in compiling and drafting MD&A for the Chief Accounting Officers group.
  • Drafting internal or external financial presentations (i.e. Bank presentations, quarterly earnings presentations, press releases, customer/media specific presentations).
  • Provide support for budget to actual variances in monthly reporting.
  • Assist in preparing management non-GAAP cash flow.



  • Likely to have Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or professional accounting qualification, with 2 to 5 years relevant work experience in a large corporation. Big 4 or large regional firm experience is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to present information in a meaningful & concise format
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to affect change through objective analysis and reason
  • Highly organized, with strong multi-tasking skills to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and demands
  • High attention to detail but able to "see the bigger picture"
  • Strong systems orientation to ensure maximizing current reporting systems
  • Advanced proficiency level in MS Excel and PowerPoint
