Job Description

Primary Function:

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of semi-routine clerical, secretarial and administrative duties of moderate complexity requiring the exercise of some discretion and use of limited judgment and initiative.

Typically supports one or more managers and/or employees in a department or administrative unit, or may support multiple departments. Major Responsibilities:

1. Follows written and verbal instructions with work usually subject to spot check.

2. Researches and obtains information for routine reports and special assignments.

3. Analyzes routine problems, may determine approach, compiles and analyzes data for review, and drafts reports/recommendations for review and action by superior.

4. Contacts company personnel to gather information and prepare reports.

5. Makes appointments, travel arrangements, meeting arrangements and coordinates activities between departments and outside parties.

6. Answers telephones, screens calls and forwards messages.

7. Answers routine correspondence and routes mail to the appropriate persons.

8. Composes, prepares, edits and proofreads letters, reports and other correspondence.

9. Orders and maintains supplies and ensures office equipment is functioning.

10. Typically uses software packages for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics and desktop publishing applications.

11. Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, calculator, fax or other office machines.

Position Requirements:

High School Diploma. 1-2 years exp. Good oral and written communications skills equivalent to those obtained in high school or commensurate experience.
