About the Opportunity:

Our client is in search of a Payroll Coordinator to join their team! This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and get hands on accounting experience. While this role will be a contract until the end of the year, the client is very open tobringing someone on full time. This opportunity will require some on-site onboarding but otherwise will transition into remote work.

Responsibilities for the Payroll Coordinator will include:

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assist in Kronos Timekeeping updates
  • Support team through year-end close

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 4+ years of payroll experience
  • Moderate to Intermediate Excel skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Great time management skills to fulfill multiple deadlines
  • Kronos Timekeeping Software experience preferred
  • Any multi-state or international payroll processing a plus!
