Job Description

Our Commercial Real Estate client located in Bergen County is adding a Senior Property Lease Accountant to the team.

In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Set up new leases in accounting system review leases interpreting lease agreements and accounts for impacts of lease provisions and clauses review lease brief for reconcile billings accounts (NNN/Base Year CAM's).
  • Prepare, reconcile and verify accounting information to contribute to accuracy and timeliness of the company's financials.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, supporting documentation, detail general ledger journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other supporting schedules/reconciliations.
  • Review and maintain monthly financial Prepare and record journal entries and manage the quality of journal entry backup.
  • Manage RE Accounting on properties managed (in Yardi)
  • Develop proposals for increasing revenue, reducing costs or improving the tenant experience of our properties
  • Assist Controller with cash flow management of all the properties
  • Assist Controller with annual year-end audits

Requirements for the position include:

  • Real Estate Accounting experience a must
  • Previous experience with GL-Cash/client reconciliations
  • Good Balance sheet chart of accountants skills and experience with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) charges a must.
  • Must have a degree in Accounting or Business
  • Strong Excel skills and proficient with Yardi a must
