Job Description

Vaco Financial is assisting our Memphis based client in their search for a Senior of SEC Reporting.

Job Description:

The SEC Reporting Senior Accountant will perform duties associated with the external SEC and IFRS reporting process and the accounting for complex balances such as derivatives, contingent consideration and product liability. This position will be responsible for driving towards best practices in financial reporting compliance. They will research and document the company's position on topics that result from complex accounting transactions such as acquisitions or the adoption of new accounting pronouncements. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404 compliance in our financial reporting cycle and month-end close process. They will also perform XBRL tagging of public filings. This position reports to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting.

Essential Job Functions:

  • SEC reporting and XBRL tagging of 10-Qs, 10-Ks, Proxys, S-8s, 8-Ks, and earnings releases
  • General accounting , reconciliation and controls documentation of complex accounts such as product liability, derivatives and contingent consideration
  • Research and documentation of complex accounting transactions or new accounting guidance
  • Prepare Audit Committee deliverables
  • Prepare internal reporting for upper management
  • Conversion of GAAP financials to IFRS

Skills, Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Masters in accounting
  • 2+ years of Big 4 accounting experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both with employees of all levels of the company and outside service providers
  • Empowerment to own and complete the tasks at hand
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions, possess the ability to adapt to the company's frequently changing needs and priorities, and meet deadlines
