Senior Security Engineer/Architect

Our client located in Houston is looking to add to their security consulting business. If you are looking to work with cutting edge security technologies and design & implement security infrastructure improvements for some of the most targeted companies in the world, this is where you need to be. The ideal Senior Security Engineer will:

  • Design, implement, manage and operate solutions in cloud and on-prem environment, such as Advance Threat Protection, Intrusion Prevention, Vulnerability management, Access control, Content Filtering, Data Loss Prevention and data encryption solutions.
  • Interact with internal business and project management teams and various external security partners and deliver information security recommendations based on best practices and established standards for various on-prem or cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Develop security standards and best practices for the organization as needed.
  • Monitor the organization's network/infrastructure for security breaches and investigate any events, incidents or violation(s).
  • Conduct vulnerability scans, penetration testing or simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in their systems before they can be exploited.
  • Lead incident response, including steps to remediate or minimize impact on business infrastructure.
  • Learn new technologies in Cyber Security and train other internal business partners with new technologies, processes and functions.


Senior Security Engineer Requirements:

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in information security or information risk management.
  • Experience with various technologies such as FireEye, McAfee, Symantec, Nessus, Metasploit, Rapid7, BlueCoat, Websense, Gemalto, Vormetric, Cisco ASA, Fortinet Fortigate, F5, QRadar, or Splunk.
  • Experience with anti-malware, vulnerability management system, email security systems, DLP, data encryption, antivirus, forensic tools, firewalls, WAF, content filtering, threat intelligence.
  • Experience with architecting and securing cloud solutions
  • Experience and familiarity with industry standards NIST-800, HIPAA, FERPA and various security protocols, such as PKI, SSL, Encryption, Data Redacting, DLP.
  • Team player and relationship builder, able to work with remote peers. Ability to build relationships, engage and influence others, while working with a diverse local and remote team as well as vendors.
  • Ability to work independently in situations with little or no guidance, managing multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
