Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to, assisting with the preparation of audit schedules; account reconciliations; preparation of corporate and store level journal entries; assisting in period end Financial Statement Close Process; and various accounting projects.
  • Responsible for preparing the bank reconciliations for all related entities including the research and resolution of all cash and credit card variances, chargebacks, review of all electronic transfers, performance of positive pay and review of all cash POS related issues.
  • Preparation of financial reporting for restaurant operations disclosing all current and prior period fluctuations with recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals.
  • Assists with the distribution of forecast information as an up to date management tool for operating departments.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of budgets, financial forecasts and reporting for new restaurant construction.
  • Analyze and identify any accounting and operations procedural issues, identify training needs and ensure implementation to improve efficiency in accounting procedures.
  • Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by company policy, generally accepted accounting practices, and as effected by local conditions.
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day operations and assignments of accounting staff, plan and organize work, communicate goals, and schedule/assign work.
  • Promote teamwork and quality of service through daily communication and coordination with the various departments.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and have at least 3 to 5 years of recent accounting experience.
  • Thorough understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects/tasks in a changing environment; self-motivation with ability to work under and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all individuals
  • Strong analytical and computer skills; high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Access.

Education and/or Experience

  • Degree required.
