This position will assist with specific income tax functions including tax provision calculations and tax return compliance. This includes conducting research, as needed, to determine the proper accounting treatment of certain transactions in accordance with ASC 740 as well as proper treatment in accordance with federal and state income tax statutes. This position will assist with other ad hoc tax projects, as considered necessary by management.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations including supporting workpapers
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statement income tax disclosures
  • Provide support for financial statement audit requests
  • Prepare annual federal and state income tax extensions and returns including supporting workpapers
  • Prepare quarterly and annual franchise tax calculations
  • Review fixed asset additions maintained by the Accounting team for appropriate tax treatment
  • Prepare quarterly income tax estimate calculations
  • Establish and build effective and productive relationships within the accounting and finance departments, as well as other departments within the organization
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to gather information required for tax reporting and timely provide information needed for the financial statements
  • Assist Treasury with tax cash forecast quarterly
  • Support ongoing Internal Audit project in the area of Tax
  • Conduct research as needed to properly document tax positions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • 2-3 years tax accounting experience; some public accounting experience preferred
  • Verbal and written communication skills that are clear, concise, and organized
  • Demonstrated ability to apply accounting and tax principles to daily work; comprehension of US GAAP and various tax laws
  • Intermediate research skills and knowledge of tax and accounting research software
  • Self-sufficient and highly motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and project manage workload
  • Support team approach to achieving organizational objectives and promote a positive work environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP or similar ERP experience is a plus
  • ONESOURCE or similar tax preparation software experience is a plus
