Job Description

Vaco has a full time role in Downtown Houston, TX for a Server Administrator. The Server Administrator will support the existing infrastructure application systems, including updating and upgrading as well as the design and implementation of new infrastructure software products and systems.


This position will be responsible for daily systems support including proactive monitoring, incident and request ticket management, problem resolution and scheduled on call support after regular hours.

This individual must demonstrate some technical expertise and general knowledge across some number of a broad range of the following technology disciplines: Applications Integration and Support, Servers, Network/Telecommunications, Security, Software Delivery/Packaging, and IT Operations.

  • Active Directory Domain Support (DNS,DHCP,Fileserver,Group Policy)
  • Windows Server and desktop Operating Systems
  • Office 365 / Azure AD
  • On Premise Exchange (2013+)
  • Cisco UCS
  • Nimble Storage
  • Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop
  • Citrix Netscaler
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Powershell
  • Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager or other


  • Minimum of 5 years IT experience; oil and gas experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma and equivalent work experience.
  • Spanish fluency a plus
  • Server experience a plus


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with others
  • Experience implementing and supporting application server infrastructure
  • Can independently complete projects and tasks in a timely manner
  • Problem diagnosis and resolution proficiency
  • Analyzes and evaluates information systems operations and provides recommendations to improve operations and utilization
  • Ability to produce documentation for process, procedures or analysis
  • Able to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy.
