Job Description

SERVER ENGINEER: Las Colinas/Irving, TX

Central purpose of the job:

  • Responsible for basic planning, optimization, implementation and management of server (Physical and Virtual) equipment.
  • Troubleshoot server infrastructure problems
  • Installation and configuration of server (Physical and Virtual) equipment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Moderate server performance and troubleshooting
  • Participate in design, optimization, and implementation and operational support activities for Server equipment
  • Establish and manage server at various (including new) sites
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware and software as needed


  • 3 - 5 years of experience with server design and support.
  • Knowledge and experience in a large environment, including extensive hands-on experience with Dell Servers, VMware ESXi, Windows Server, and related technologies (preferred)
  • Strong technical aptitude in the following: VMware ESXi; vCenter; vSphere; vSphere replication; vMotion; Storage vMotion; vROps
  • Windows Operating System configuration and management
  • Performance optimization and tuning of virtual servers at both the hypervisor and server OS level
  • Server HA, including the configuration and support of MS Clusters, particularly in a VMware environment
  • Experience with VMware Horizon View would be a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, SNMP and DHCP products and protocols
  • Working knowledge of Storage (EMC/SAN), Database (SQL) and Networking (Cisco) technologies
  • Knowledge of commonly used IT concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to think critically, quickly, and strategically
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate up, down, and across the business
