Job Description

Our client, a small company located in Birmingham, AL, is looking to add a Controller to its team. This role will help establish and coordinate accounting procedures for the entire Company. Duties will include day-to-day operations, month-end close procedures, journal entry postings, GL account reconciliations, internal control maintenance, financial compliance of financial statements, and daily and/or weekly analysis and reporting.


  • Managing accounting and financial reporting
  • Establishing and coordinating all accounting procedures for the business unit
  • Investigating significant trends/variances in financial data
  • Handling AP, AR, Payroll, Tax functions as well as Cost and Inventory Accounting
  • Providing daily and/or weekly analysis, and reporting on operational performance as it relates to the business activities including monitoring margins, variances, and giving feedback
  • Assisting in the formulation of the budget and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses


  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience, public accounting experience a strong plus
  • CPA required
  • Strong MS Excel skills and demonstrated leadership role
