Introduction
The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, and maintains online educational software in a collaborative and creative agile environment comprised of teams of highly skilled colleagues using many of the latest technologies and industry best practices. This individual is also responsible for continually advancing the technology and finding better and more efficient ways of delivering solutions that meet business objectives. You are self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes, and are excited about helping students achieve their full potential by designing and developing software and tools to support our core online learning system.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, debug, and deploy enhancements and fixes in large-scale web applications.
  • Lead and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in scrum backlog refinement, planning, daily standup, reviews, and retrospective meetings.
  • Coach, mentor, and proactively support colleague's involvement and professional development.
  • Investigate, analyze, and make recommendations regarding technology improvements, standardization, scaling, upgrades, and modifications to our products and services utilized to deploy those products.
  • Establish and maintain strong development best practices across the team and department.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years' experience as a software engineer using C# & .Net
  • Experience developing public facing websites or complex web applications
  • Knowledge in HTML, HTML5, MVC, JavaScript, CSS, XML, Restful web services, AJAX, and OOD
  • Experience with ReactJS and Redux, as well as MongoDB and SQL
  • Familiarity with ASP .NET WebForms, BitBucket, and Unit Testing/Mocking
  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Experience in AWS
  • Experience with 3rd party integrations
