Job Description

A Vaco Technology client is looking to hire a Software QA Tester to their team full time in Houston, TX.

We are looking for a Software QA Tester that is dedicated to ensuring the overall quality of our client's software and derivative products. Responsibilities will include all forms of testing from regression tests to end-to-end tests and penetration testing. You should also have a good eye for detail as making sure the deliverables meet design specifications will be another part of the job. This is an opportunity to work on a product team that has a large roadmap of features to implement for the next several years.

Core Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze system specifications
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
  • Evaluate product code according to specifications
  • Create logs to document testing phases and defects
  • Report bugs and errors to development teams
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5 years of Quality Assurance Testing experience
  • Experience in project management and QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
