Job Description

We are currently seeking a Sr. Accountant for an immediate need. Candidate will be working in the Financial Reporting group handling financial statements, disclosure check lists, populate documents, validations and verifications, debts instruments, derivatives, journal entries, will do some technical accounting, will be involved in all aspects, up front and on back-end.

  • Assist with monthly closing procedures including preparing/uploading journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts (including debt, accrued interest, interest rate swaps, intangible assets, etc.)
  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records and supporting analyses
  • Review general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and identify items that require management review
  • Prepare financial reports and schedules which are utilized by management within the Financial Reporting Department, FP&A, and Tax
  • Assist with the preparation and tie-out of the quarterly reporting packages and earnings release
  • Coordinate with other departments to request and obtain financial analyses which support quarterly reporting requirements, footnotes, and MD&A disclosures
  • Complete quarterly US GAAP disclosure checklist
  • Prepare quarterly balance sheet and income statement variance analyses
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc management requests
  • Work with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits to ensure timely satisfaction of requests

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of relevant financial experience in either public or private accounting
  • CPA license in New Jersey a plus
  • Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP")
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Oracle and Business Objects a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with other functional groups and personnel at various levels
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to complete tasks and to work collaboratively with others to utilize their resources and knowledge
  • Flexibility, as there will be workweeks that require more than 40 hours to ensure the Company's reporting responsibilities are met
