Job Description

We are currently seeking a Sr. Accountant in the Kingston, NY area for an immediate need. Position will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting infrastructure to accommodate the needs of a fast growing, dynamic organization, as well as the following responsibilities:

  • The consolidation and reporting of accounting information to CFO and CEO.
  • Maintaining an accurate and timely general ledger and accounts in QuickBooks; properly accounting for and safeguarding of assets.
  • Establish, implement and maintain accounting policies and internal controls
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including budget and historical variance analysis, as well as all general accounting functions
  • Supervise accounting staff in various departments including Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, billing, collections & insurance
  • Manage state tax compliance, registrations & filings including but not limited to sales & use tax and quarterly payroll tax filings.
  • Providing support and assistance to CFO in connection with budgeting and forecasting, year-end tax support and due diligence, as necessary.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 3-4 years of experience.
  • Strong technical skills, detailed understanding of GAAP compliance.
  • State of the art knowledge of current information systems and excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Excel and QuickBooks
  • Start-up company experience, focused in either the professional services and/or healthcare industries
  • Possess excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills and be capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Supervisory experience: planning, organization and controls, training performance, coaching and motivating direct reports.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
