Job Description

In this Analyst position, you will work at a strategic level with all kinds of technical subject matter experts in the elicitation, modeling, documentation and management of data, and business and systems requirements. You will use your extensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and analysis best practices to facilitate requirements sessions and communicate clearly and effectively with end-users, senior managers and other team members.


SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Business Analyst - Business Intelligence is a key position in Tredegar's efforts to drive user engagement of the analytical tools and more meaningful business analytics. This positon will need to drive the discussions to engage the business and draw out where the analytic tools will make them more efficient and show them how. It requires a self-starter with solid project management skills and the ability to communicate with the business to:
1) Promote analytic usage and skills among management and employees through programs of training, mentoring, and the selection of appropriate analytic tools
2) Oversee the development of analytic metrics that establish a consistent, coherent approach to data throughout the organization to tie analytics into all enterprise functions.
3) Organize and coordinate the organization's disparate data streams in preparation for analytics and to promote holistic mission-critical analysis.
4) Ensure that analyses used for financial reporting and in support of legal requirements are valid, reliable, traceable, timely, available, secure, and consistent.
5) Define business requirements and turn them into technical specifications.
6) Manage / build solutions in the related toolsets.

The position is also responsible for day to day maintenance of the environment, including databases, ETL processes, OLAP tools, for applying software updates and for the management of change in a manner consistent with defined practices. This position requires excellent skills in written and verbal communications, the ability to diagnose and analyze complex business issues and provide sound problem solving. Over time, it is expected that this position will develop and in-depth understanding of Tredegar's business processes, build solutions that improve the productivity of the company while providing the analytics needed to support better / faster decision making.

A. DUTIES:
a. Lead business engagement by applying your extensive experience and knowledge to identify solutions, develop requirements, project plans, and detailed work plans. Manage project delivery through deployment and all related communications to insure alignment, in both IT and the business. 35%
b. Perform technical development based on the Tredegar SDLC model including analysis, design, development, testing and implementations. Requires little supervision in the performance of duties. Provides regular status updates on work. 25%
c. Manage the day to day operating environment, including but not limited to insuring that all jobs run correctly delivering timely and accurate data, that systems are responsive and well-maintained, and for responding to user questions and inquiries. Build user capabilities within the analytic tool solution, developing a support network of Super Users for front line help. 20%
d. Provide end user training and documentation that supports successful use of the system. Attend internal & external educational training classes to improve the support 15%
e. Participate with other Global IT resources in the on-call process, which provides level 2 support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 365 days a year. 5%

C. PERSONAL PROFILE
Essential Desirable
1. Education: College degree or equivalency Undergraduate degree in IT field of study. MBA

2. Experience: 7- 10 years in IT or related field
At least 3+ years' experience utilizing related toolsets (SQL, data ETL as assigned)
Knowledge of assigned process areas.
10+ years in IT or related field. At least 5+ years' experience supporting MicroStrategy or other data warehouse and analytical tool. PMP Certification
