Job Description

Job Duties:

  • Identify, define, document, and prioritize requirements of information systems of various size and complexity.
  • Leads and/or assists with project scoping and business process reengineering.
  • Acts as a liaison between assigned business units and Information Technology, to improve communication and accessibility of the department.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Occasional work during non standard hours may be required.

40%: Requirements analysis, documentation, and communication, for business and technology projects with local, remote, and/or offshore teams. Leadership and development support for those projects, as needed.

30%: Scoping and estimation for new business project requests from any business unit.

20%: Liaison between IT and assigned business units for the purpose of disseminating information from IT related information to the departments and managing the business changes associated with releasing new information technology solutions to the business.

10%: Collaboration with other business analysts and project team members across the department and on other projects to share knowledge and experience that can be leveraged for cross project purposes or for improvement in the business analysis process in general.

Job Requirements:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
  • Course of Study/Major: Business, Technology-related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Related Work Experience: 5-10 years.
  • Requires strong ability to balance competing needs and priorities and to stay focused on the priorities of the overall end-client business.
  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills, people skills, presentation skills, facilitation skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures across all levels of the organization including the executive leadership team.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize the customers' needs and root problems.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings between analysts and individuals from within the business.
  • Ability to closely manage others' expectations, inside and outside of end-client.
  • All of the above, plus:
    • Experience with standard software development project management processes (SDLC, waterfall, RUP, agile, etc.), and with standard analysis and documentation techniques (use cases, business rules, process diagrams, etc).
    • Experience in use case analysis and modeling, and other industry best practices.
    • Experience with project proposal scoping, estimation, and cost/benefit analysis.
