Job Description

Oversees and leads the Program Management Office to ensure company programs and projects meet strategy objectives and business goals.

  • With individual PM's develops an estimate of the size of the project, the time and resources the project requires and lays down the project methodologies through many PMO tools and instruments (including, but not limited to): Program charter, Work Plans, Communications, and Risk Analysis
  • Establishes a program baseline or the "road map" for implementation of a project
  • Audits or tracks ongoing projects at regular intervals to ensure projects are on course and follow the approved methodology
  • Establishes a key performance indicators and sets milestones for the project team
  • Develops a team of competent project managers through training and mentoring
  • Manage and balance Project Manager's workload and assignments
  • Ensure that all team members understand their roles and accept their responsibilities
  • Provides in-house consultancy services to project teams
  • Gathers and archives project experience and reusable data to improve project management methods in the future
  • Work with PMs to analyze actual performance against the project plan and make adjustments consistent with plan objectives. Provide on-going developmental feedback to PMs as appropriate.
  • Ensure PM's keep all stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
  • Manage project scope and deliverables through a structured change management process
  • Must be able to manage project schedules, task details and utilize project management tools such as reports, tracking charts, checklists, and project scheduling software
  • Must be able to manage change, and take active leadership in timely decision making
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Experience with managing a project portfolio
  • Experience with project management and managing teams
  • A good understanding of development and operational and processes within a company.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a similar discipline; or the equivalent in work experience
  • An advanced degree is preferred
  • Ten or more years in an engineering, manufacturing environment
  • Five or more years of specific program/project management experience
