Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Focus: Test, as design phase has just been completed.

Highly Desired Skills: Avionics background, Digital/RF Engineer, Must have experience w/radars, cellular & wifi. Satcom a plus

Interview Process: Phone & Panel Interview w/team

Desired Qualifications:
  • Firsthand design knowledge with multicore Microprocessors (32/64-bit), Ethernet switching technologies and FPGA/ASIC based embedded digital designs.
  • Firsthand design knowledge and expertise in modern LCD, Touchscreen technologies for cell phones and tablets required.
  • Experience in industry standard embedded hardware design for Aerospace applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of wireless, RF, analog design, design for EMI, and power electronics is a must.
  • Firsthand knowledge of Linux machine administration, Android, Perl scripting is a must.
  • Be able to participate and execute multiple electrical designs.
  • Familiar with embedded F/W design.
  • Experience in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth embedded design and Antenna technologies, IP/Networking.
  • Work as the team within internal integrated product development team consisting of Electrical, PCB, Firmware, and mechanical engineers to designs and test complex high-speed embedded hardware.
  • Writes the technical specification and design test verification documents to make sure the product meets the design/system/ customer requirements. Prepare the material and make presentations for formal design reviews.
  • Identifies and resolves potential problems before they occur, therefore minimizing the impact to schedule and cost.
  • Work well in close collaboration with other engineering and non-engineering organizations such as: mechanical engineering, test engineering, system software, system engineering, system integration and validation, operations, product engineering, project management, product line management and work package management.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner.

Skills:
  • Ensures Electrical design HW Engineering activity management within constraints provided by the HwEM Responsible for the completion of a set of engineering tasks within the committed cost, schedule, performance and quality. The related tasks may cover part or all the range of activities regarding customer needs, mission, function, architectural design, and life cycle of the hardware solution (requirements and specialty engineering, design, development, integration and verification).
  • Ensure that electrical design engineering aspects of projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner and will integrate efforts from various functional groups to accomplish goals.
  • Provides the technical interface to key subcontractors and customers Participates in comprehensive design reviews with engineering team and manufacturing partners to confirm that electrical design parameters, cost and manufacturability requirements have been met.
  • Writes the technical specifications, documents to make sure the electrical design meets the customer, manufacturing and system design requirements.

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required (Master degree is preferred) Minimum 10 years' experience in Electrical embedded hardware design for high speed digital and analog communications systems Previous experience in avionics electrical design, development and documentation.
  • DO-160 FAA certification experience and FCC certification experience is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a multicultural team with varied degrees of experience.
  • Must be self-starter and motivated to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Good technical written and oral skills.
  • Proficient in using Word, Excel, Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and PowerPoint Experience using digital test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Emulator, Debuggers, etc.
  • Requires experience using schematic capture and layout viewer (ORCAD, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, PCAD, etc.) Experience with FPGA/CPLD design concepts.
