Job Description

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Approximately 30% of time dedicated to month end closing responsibilities and reporting. Duties include journal entry preparation, sales commission tracking, consolidation of global financial statements, variance research and compilation of variance commentary, preparation of various schedules including sales by customer, country, and product category. Assists with reporting and accounting process changes including intercompany transactions. Responsible for reconciling financial statements in corporate consolidating tool HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) to local financials and verifies account/function mapping.

  • Responsibility for areas of annual budget and ad-hoc forecasts including sales, direct margin, SG&A cost centers, and other P&L line items. Owner of loading sales forecasts/budgets into SAP, SAP Business Intelligence (BI) tool, and consolidating tool (Oracle PBCS).

  • Involvement with preparing a daily sales dashboard in terms of reviewing sales forecasts for specific sales channels and customers and raising the flag on any risks/opportunities to the forecast, preparation of margin analysis, and research of unusual margin items. Raises the flag on such items and works with other departments to propose solutions.

  • Compiles and coordinates data for various reporting requests including sales and statistical reports, monthly corporate financial management reports, and monthly internal business review presentations. Looks for ways to automate and simplify reporting, communicates recommendations, and assists with implementing changes.

  • Prepares reports that summarize and forecast company activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Specific examples of this include product P&Ls, customer P&Ls, cost center and spending reporting.

  • Assures on-time reporting to corporate finance.


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years job related experience overall
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Business knowledge that includes sales, distribution, purchasing, products, etc.
  • Proven analytical skills, high concern for accuracy, and highly organized
  • Ability to focus on details while considering the impacts to the big picture overall results

Experience with month end closing including preparation of journal entries plus strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Office and other required company software (SAP and HFM)
