We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst for an established, reputable company in the Richmond, Virginia area.

Salary: $65k-$75k plus target bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly analysis of P&L performance including actual vs. budget and actual vs. prior year.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute external U.S. GAAP reporting, including the completion of Forms 8-K, 10-K, 10-Q, 11-K and press releases.
  • Assess and document the impact of accounting standards issued by the FASB and regulations issued by the SEC and PCAOB and partner with other functional areas to research and implement the provisions of new accounting standards
  • Perform due diligence associated with acquisitions; performs acquisition related accounting analysis; provides policy and process recommendations to senior management.
  • Conduct complex technical analysis to report on future and current financial performance, including analyses on budgets, forecasts, operating results, business plans and investment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain various periodic reports in support of assigned business lines, including quarterly and year-end audit schedules, margin and profitability reports, etc.
  • Drive standardization & process improvement across operating businesses in all aspects of planning & reporting including best practice sharing.
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis on critical business issues that reflects understanding of issue and potential solutions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
  • 2+ years of public accounting and/or corporate financial reporting experience
  • Significant GAAP and SEC reporting and understanding of technical accounting
  • Solid communication skills
  • Ability to handle several complex financial projects simultaneously and prioritize
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems and processes
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify trends, issues and develop recommendations
