Job Description


Vaco Atlanta is seeking a Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant for a large client of ours currently located in
Kennesaw, GA. The Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant is accountable for recording the cost of
newly-acquired fixed assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets,
recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Please apply for

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:

  • Accurate accounting, reporting, controlling and safeguarding of the company fixed assets. This includes monitoring requests to assure adherence to company policies.
  • Support the month-end close processes ensuring all financial deadlines are met. Creation of monthly journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations - specifically capital in process and fixed asset reconciliations.
  • Liaison between manufacturing plants for capital requests and other projects.
  • Support senior accountants in various projects or tasks necessary to meet departmental goals or objectives.
  • Analyze financial information detailing expenditures for capital projects.
  • Collaborate with all departments to monitor asset additions, disposals and movements.
  • Assure adherence to company capitalization policy and GAAP requirements.
  • Responsible for implementing, monitoring and enhancing accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Support management of audits by coordinating with the Accounting department and Auditors to ensure expectations are met and audit schedules are completed timely.
  • Support management through ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for complying with established and published SOX requirements and making recommendations related to the improvement of the overall control environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • Master's in accounting and CPA or CPA track is preferred
  • 4+ years of full-time work experience in financial analysis, business administration, general accounting, cost accounting, economic analysis, systems analysis, or related area Reasonable ability to utilize computer software to provide monthly, quarterly, and fiscal analysis (Oracle Hyperion Enterprise & Retrieve for Excel)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suites, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, ERP retrieve tools, etc)
