Job Description

Vaco Tampa is hiring for a client in Clearwater, FL!
All work must be completed on-site.

  • Provide leadership across all areas of the development process and software development lifecycle
  • Design, develop and ensure consistency of our software development standards, best practices, security coding guidelines, functional/technical designs, code branching/merging, peer code reviews, implementation practices, etc. (aligning with Architecture and Security guidelines)
  • Ensure development and process synergy/alignment across both ERP and non-ERP domains (.NET, C#, Java)
  • Provide guidance and expertise with respect to our change, configuration and release management practices for all code promotions from lower to upper environments
  • Define and establish our development methodology for continuous improvement of our new ERP platform and integrating with existing SDLC practices
  • Develop strong relations with the business, helping IT move from technical service provider to strategic partner/leader in terms of system recommendations for business enablement
  • Leverage strong communication skills to convey strategic ideas clearly and concisely with peers and executive leadership to obtain buy-in on system improvements and IT operational processes
  • Leverage development background and technical leadership to develop performance/training plans to enhance the skills of the entire development team and hire/terminate as required
  • Mentor development team members in Microservices, .NET and other API integration areas
  • Help lead the transition from our current consulting implementation partners to internal staff (augmented with contractors as required)
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other IT Leaders to establish best practices across IT, obtaining buy-in and elevating our IT maturity as a whole

Job Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a Manager/Director position(s) demonstrating leadership and managing teams greater than 10+ team members in the software development space.
  • 10+ years programming experience with one or more additional full scale, OO programming languages
  • 5+ years implementing ERP solutions a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP architectures from a software development perspective
  • Experience implementing ERP add-ons to integrate functionality such as credit card processing, ACH, address verification, eSignatures, CRM, etc.
  • Experience building and consuming APIs using SOAP and/or REST
  • Experience implementing or working with mobile applications a plus
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical discipline
