Job Description

Vaco is looking for a Sr. PM who will serve as primary project facilitator who guides cross functional team(s). Acts as servant leader to the team and facilitates planning, team learning in the form of reviews and retrospectives and adaption of the process to ensure quality of team/solutions. Ensures the tracking and reporting of daily activities. Responsible for removing impediments that prevent a team from completing the work it has negotiated for a given sprint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Product Owner, Stakeholders and IT Teams to meet committed project goals that support business objectives
  • Guide and Coach the Project Team and organization on how to use Agile and/or Project Management best practices to deliver business value with quality, on time and within budget.
  • Assess the maturity of the team and organization and move the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Remove impediments, escalate issues and guide the team to resolution.
  • Build within the project team an environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
  • Partner with Project Sponsor/Product Owner on scope, priority and anticipated deliverables
  • Drive team reporting responsibilities in systems of record and key status reporting mechanisms in support of PMO
  • Drive internal and external communication promoting end-to-end project leadership and successful transition to Operations
  • Knowledgeable of project goals, objectives, obstacles, status and needs to move forward

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of experience in IT or a related field
  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master) preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution skills
  • Able to handle multiple, and at times competing priorities and appropriately balance delivery and expectations with all levels of leadership
  • Adaptive/flexible leadership focused on meeting business needs using a variety of techniques and practices
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
  • Demonstrated experience as a collaborative leader who promotes resource growth and has a proven track record of delivery
  • Strong focus on implementation quality
  • Project Leadership experience in a variety of different contexts
