Job Description:

The Global Tax Department of AB is in search of a Senior Tax Accountant to join their U.S. Finance organization. The candidate will report to the SVP/Global Tax Director and will be involved in various aspects of the company's financial reporting and tax compliance activities. The position will partner with other members of the finance team including, General Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury and Legal. In addition, key constituents will include, external big-4 accounting firms and legal counsel. The candidate will play an integral role in assisting the team achieve strategic objectives, drive process improvements, support international tax teams with the goal of ensuring the firm's global tax requirements are complied with accurately and timely.

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Prepare and/or review current and deferred income tax provision schedules
  • Assist with the preparation of tax returns and forms filings (federal, state, city, etc.)
  • Record tax journal entries
  • Reconciliation of tax accounts
  • Prepare and remit quarterly payments
  • Maintain SOX 404 documentation requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external parties (Accounting, Finance, Legal, tax authorities, auditors, and consultants)
  • Support Tax management in everyday operations and special projects
  • Work with external tax advisors, auditors, and consultants locally and regionally
  • Research, interpret and implement tax laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical knowledge and working experience with ASC 740 required
  • Familiarity with SOX 404 compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of Schedules K-1 and tax allocations desired
  • Proficiency in Corporate and Partnership taxation required
  • Understanding of IAS 12 a plus
  • Prior experience working at a large multinational firm(s) desired
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative by nature
  • Proficient in MS Office, XBRL
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel required

Education and Experience

  • 3 to 5 years' progressive experience in a Corporate Tax Department
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting
  • Big Four experience required
  • CPA required
