Fast-growing startup in Midtown, Manhattan is seeking an inventory Staff Accountant to join their busy team! This role would directly support the CFO with general accounting functions, month-end closing functions, inventory and cost accounting, and procurement on a daily basis.

Ideally, we are seeking candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset who can roll up their sleeves and take on multiple projects. This is a great opportunity to gain significant accounting experience in multiple areas.

Responsibilities include:
  • Improve integration of finance and operations processes and procedures, create efficiencies and cost savings in record keeping, reporting and recording inventory related transactions for financial and physical inventory management purposes
  • Complete a reconciliation of historical accounting for inventory, making corrections and additions as required to assure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Help establish "best practices" in inventory accounting
  • Work in a coordinated, cooperative and creative way with the accounting and finance staff as well as key people in purchasing, warehouse operations, production/assembly, fulfillment and IT
Qualifications needed:
  • 1-10 years of general accounting experience
  • Experience working with purchase orders, inventory accounting, or cost accounting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • QuickBooks experience highly preferred
  • Adaptable, think-on-your-feet mindset
