Staff Accountant - Successful Healthcare Manufacturer! - Virginia Beach

Role and Responsibilities:

A large and successful manufacturer is seeking a STAFF ACCOUNTANT to join its Norfolk team. This is an amazing role for a driven staff accountant seeking a complex accounting role!

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the general ledger month-end closing process; and focus on fixed assets, commission calculations, cost reporting, and financial reporting and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain the company general ledger, ensuring and verifying reconciliation of all subsidiary accounts through appropriate adjusting entries while maintaining accurate supporting documentation
• Maintains the fixed assets property ledger accounting for acquisitions, disposals and transfer of company assets including appropriate Depreciation calculation and entries
• Calculate timely and accurate monthly commissions
• Facilitate audits with internal business partners
• Prepares Medicare cost report including monthly accruals
• Assist with year-end tax reporting and special projects for finance team

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree accounting or related field, with a CPA preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on general ledger and fixed assets
• 2+ years of experience with financial analysis and reporting
• Exceptional computer skills including advanced Excel and strong experience with an ERP, with SAP preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical and datamining skills
• Desire and ability to prioritize with competing demands, with a focus on meeting deadlines
