Job Description

Vaco Los Angeles is working with a company that is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our team at their office located in the Marina Del Rey area. This position is responsible for processing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and oversight and understanding of the general ledger and how it impacts the company's monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements. This is a temporary to hire position.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for various general ledger accounts including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Analysis of variances in account activity.
  • Prepare GAAP financials including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows for major subsidiaries.
  • Prepare financial analysis and respond to management inquiries.
  • Assist external auditors with schedule preparation and respond to audit questions.
  • Assist in preparation of presentation of financials to member managers on a monthly basis.
  • Cash management - manage cash on a daily/weekly basis to determine cash requirements
  • Department projects, financial analysis and other duties on an as needed basis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting/Finance from four-year College or university.
  • Three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting practices.
  • CPA preferred but not required (or CPA track).
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software strongly preferred.
