An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Vaco to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
  • Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
  • Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
  • Self-starter, high attention to detail, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
