Job Description

Overview:
This position is responsible for supporting the Finance & Accounting department's general ledger, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and recordkeeping functions to ensure that finances are maintained in a detailed, up-to-date, and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:

  • General ledger: journal entries, monthly closing and balance sheet account reconciliations including Bank Accounts, Federal, State and Local Payroll Tax Liability accounts. Maintains facility accounts and ledgers.
  • Bookkeeping
  • Cash management and closing Accounts Payable.
  • Prepares and delivers bank deposits.
  • Assures accurate completion of admission forms, contracts, etc.
  • Checks figures, postings and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Financial reporting & Recordkeeping: compiles and prepares data and financial reports as required by corporate staff.
  • Adhere to established HIPPA confidentiality standards of protected health information.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (in accounting or related field preferred).
  • At least three (3) years of experience in bookkeeping and accounting (behavioral health care experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of general ledger accounts and their relation to invoices.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (v lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and inquisitive.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Able to multi-task, handle multiple priorities, and work independently.
  • Able to apply departmental and company policies and procedures.
