Vaco is currently partnering with an equipment leasing and sales company in the Irvine area on a new Staff Accountant search. Ideal candidates for this role will have 2-3 years general ledger accounting, advanced Excel / technical skills and a great team attitude. This would be a temp-to-permanent engagement looking to identify candidates immediately. As a Staff Accountant, you will play an integral role in accurately preparing our client's accounting records and performance. You will be responsible for a variety of general accounting functions as well as providing accounting support for senior staff if needed.

Staff Accountant responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end closing process including all accruals and adjusting entries.
  • Reconcile financials discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Reconcile major balance sheet accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, prepaid, and accounts payable.
  • Document accounting procedures as needed.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
  • Work with accounting staff to help with operation overflow.
  • Prepare special financial reports on an as needed basis.
  • Serve as backup for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • 1-3 year's general ledger accounting experience required.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently with individuals and group.
  • Flexibility to work overtime.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and time management skills.
