Job Description

SUMMARY:

Applies analytic principles to review and analyze transactions and reporting of the Sales Division information.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Analyze profitability based on product, product line, customer, sales territory, etc.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to President and the Vice President, Strategic Planning - as directed.
  • Work closely with Vice President, Strategic Planning - concerning trade management activities, including detailed reporting on distributors and deductions.
  • Responsible for the set-up of collection and approvals of payments for trade management dollars.
  • Analyze payments to Brokers for commissions.
  • Review of all new vendor and customer set ups for Broker and Commission entitlement.
  • Review and analyze all LCM and COGS and correct, if necessary.
  • Responsible for review of the monthly Foods financial statements.
  • Be a liaison with the Controller Group regarding transactional and reporting activities.
  • Assists with the preparation of the budgets, cash requirements forecast (short-range and long-range) and outstanding obligations/commitments, as a basis for maintaining adequate working capital funds.
  • Work with the Vice President, Strategic Planning to implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, cut costs, take advantage of opportunities, and maintain state-of-the-art practices.
  • Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in field of expertise.
  • Maintain and update Trademark registration data base.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance; 3+ years' progressive experience within Accounting or the equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Knowledge of AR deductions, discount and volume allowances.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing analytical reports using excel, access and report writers.
  • Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software such as Oracle.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to anticipate and adapt to constant change in a growing business environment is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work effectively in an environment with strict deadlines is required.
