Job Description

The Structural Engineering Manager for the Engineering Department is responsible for the oversight of all development of technical competence for the Engineering Structural Team. The Structural Engineering Manager is responsible for the review and improvement of all engineering processes, technical excellence, technical training, review of key project deliverables, a consultant for innovation, and overall project competence in structural engineering. This includes mentoring key leaders for the continued growth of the department and company capacity. The Structural Engineering Manager will work with the Director of Engineering for overall department health; they are therefore responsible for managing personnel issues related to the team, including performance reviews, career planning, and development of people as needed. The Structural Engineering Manager is required to expand their Professional Engineer's Licensure (more states, more technical specialization when needed).

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee engineering duties associated with the design, fabrication, and installation of conveyor system supports and structural members and frames.
* Develop and deliver training for key competencies to ensure the structural engineering team grows in its capacity to support the business needs.
* Review critical structural drawing submittals and develop a reviewing process ensuring that our quality is best in class.
* Review of footing/slab design from others in support of projects.
* Ensure that the engineering department is well versed and trained to ensure the output for a project (drawings and supporting calculations) meet the applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
* Demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills.
* Develop a detailed knowledge of our customer's standards and specifications for conveyor design.
* Develop a detailed knowledge of typical codes and standards associated with conveyor fabrication and installation.
* Develop and communicate to the project team a detailed schedule of engineering tasks for his/her assigned project.
* Track and report on the progress of his/her assigned project to the Director of Engineering.
* Manage his/her team to deliver quality drawings that are functional for installation and fabrication.
* Oversee designs

* Minimum: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and Master's in Structural Engineering (or equivalent of Master's)
* Professional Engineering License, and SE license (California preferred, or ability to obtain CA license; "Western States Exam" Ready)
* Leadership experience
* Industrial design experience required (5 years minimum)
* Proficiency in the following software
Autodesk Inventor or Revit
Microsoft Office
FEA analysis software, such as RISA 3D
