Job Description

IT Support Specialist

Position Summary:

Supports the technology needs of company users by maintaining servers, workstations, network devices, peripherals and telecommunications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer Windows-based network, Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange
  • Manage Exchange email distribution groups and shared mailboxes
  • Administer user accounts and permissions for RIS and RRS proprietary systems
  • Install, manage & maintain IT Infrastructure (LAN, WAN, SAN, VPN, Switches, SonicWALL Firewalls, WAP)
  • Install & Manage physical and virtual Server environment (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Manage Server/Network Rack devices and infrastructure (UPS, PDU, KVM)
  • Install & Manage networked peripherals (Network Printers, Network Copiers, Network Scanners, Handheld Barcode Scanners)
  • Manage Anti-Virus portal to ensure clients are compliant
  • Assign user rights to mapped network drives, shared files & folders
  • Monitor & maintain Client & Server backups to LAN Devices and Cloud
  • Daily Helpdesk activities to support local and remote users
  • Install & Configure user hardware & software and keep track of assigned company assets
  • Manage Avaya IP based phone system
  • Manage E-Fax cloud-based system that RIS and other employees use
  • Install, Manage IP based security camera systems
  • Troubleshoot and escalate trouble tickets to relevant third-party support vendors
  • Configure and order IT equipment from third party vendors
  • Ensure that all equipment & software licenses are kept current

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (mandatory)

Experience:

5-10 years of IT support experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certification required.
  • Self-starter, with first-rate people skills, possessing a proactive problem-solving methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to lift computers/servers/printers/office equipment when needed
  • Availability to work during hours outside of normal business hours for software updates, assisting employees in other time zones, etc.
