Vaco Indianapolis has partnered with a company in Indianapolis to fill a Talent Acquisition Director role.

Talent Acquisition Director plans, develops, and directs the talent acquisition efforts and strategies for the Company. Develops, executes and manages a comprehensive strategic selection process that fulfills the talent requirements and drives the desired culture of the Company. Works with management to understand current and future workforce needs and develops improvements to staffing processes such as sourcing and selection.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provides strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration of recruitment processes.
  • Works with leadership to develop programs that will accelerate talent acquisition in order to hire the best along with talent development and retention within the Company.
  • Aligns talent acquisition and talent management efforts with the organization's strategy, business objectives and acquisition/retention goals.
  • Monitors the status of all recruitment processes and analyzes statistical recruiting data; recommends alternative solutions based on review of the data.
  • Develops effective business relationships both internally and externally that will further the Company's goals. Manages relationships with vendor partners while aligning with organization's key objectives to reduce costs.
  • Partners with upper management in the various Company Divisions to determine staffing needs and establishes a strategic plan to achieve those goals.
  • Identifies opportunities for department improvement and enhancement.
  • Ensures adherence to the departmental budget and monitors expenditures.
  • Screens, interviews and makes recommendations for hiring potential associates. Coaches and provides leadership, direction, motivation and supervision of direct reports. Appraises performance, provides performance feedback, takes corrective actions and oversees training and development of staff.
  • Develops and manages departmental budget.


Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Human Resources or related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources and recruitment with at least 5 years of supervisory or management experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
