Tax Director - Successful and Growing Co - Financial Services - Pay to $200K

Role and Responsibilities:

A leading financial services company is seeking a Tax Director to lead the corporate tax department with primary responsibility for overseeing income tax reporting, short and long-term tax planning and modeling, tax compliance, corporate tax accounting, and tax auditing. This is a perfect role for a hands-on strategic tax leader to be involved in all tax issues impacting the business, including mergers and acquisitions, contract negotiations, regulatory matters and strategic tax planning issues.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee of accounting for income taxes and financial reporting purposes (quarterly and annual reporting of tax provision) including research, and computations, deferred tax analysis, disclosures etc. to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Manage and direct compliance efforts for SOX 404 for all tax accounting controls and documentation requirements
  • Oversee the tax compliance function
  • Manage information flow for all tax audits and quantify exposures
  • Identify tax issues and trends that may impact business activities and proactively work to reduce company risk
  • Support corporate growth initiatives and provide strategic analysis and recommendations as it relates to tax issues impacting the business
  • Effectively communicate tax positions and strategies to company executives
  • Provide input related to tax for long term planning and acquisition modeling scenarios
  • Develop tax projections to support financial and strategic objectives in partnership with FP&A team


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Accounting or a related field of study; Masters in Tax preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum 10-15 years of combined experience in industry and public accounting (Big 4 Preferred) with a strong emphasis on tax accounting
  • Experience developing and leading a team of tax professionals in a complex environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across the company
  • Financial institution and/or financial services tax experience
  • Strong computer skill including advanced Excel, experience with Corptax software a plus
