Job Description

This role is responsible for oversight, ownership and accountability for all activities relating to Systems Training, Progress Reporting, Project Management and maintaining Effective Communications both internally and externally, and Exceed Customer expectations

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Training
    • Manages all aspects of technology training Systems and delivery
    • Create Standard Operating Procedures and maintain documentation library with recent and updated content
    • Create Training Videos using Camtasia and maintain a centralized location for ease of accessibility by all users. Maintain updated Video and professional edits
    • Create professional PowerPoint presentations for use by all trainers
    • Coordinate all training schedules with staff and their direct reports to minimize downtime.
    • Auditing current IT resources, including content on the internal Intranet site and web-based training modules, identifying areas where content needs updating and working with subject matter experts and site owners to make updates
    • Working with subject matter experts and functional organizations to develop specifications and storyboards for training content. Using this content to create web-based training modules for various business groups with a heavy emphasis on training for IT applications
    • Create marketing and communication videos for Global Retail Information Systems to educate and promote IT applications
    • Work closely with Corporate Communications to author internal employee communications
    • Develop job aides and Frequently Asked Questions for IT systems
    • Coordinate instructor-led training classes and webinars by scheduling classes, enrolling students, preparing class materials, tracking student attendance, running reports, handling classroom logistics, reviewing skill tests
    • Create surveys to evaluate effectiveness of training programs; analyze survey results and improve training programs
    • Develop a schedule of regularly communicated IT tips and tricks, research content for communications, and post tips in social community
    • Ad hoc project requests as it applies to training to Global Information Systems
    • Project Management
      • Prepares, plans, and co-ordinates new technology implementation and existing technology upgrades for short and long-term projects.
      • Determines priorities and assigns projects to staff in conjunction with direct report.
      • Conducts periodic reviews on on-going projects and rollouts.
      • Responsible to thoroughly understand and communicate stakeholder requirements to appropriate team members and manage all requirements accordingly with each stakeholder.
      • Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback.
      • Coordinate and facilitate delivery of project objectives.
      • Track progress and review project tasks to adhere to deadlines appropriately.
      • Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer goals.
      • Proactively communicate project status, issues & risks to management.
      • Conduct regular status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholder's needs and requirements continuously in view.
      • Work collaboratively with development team and support team to maintain thorough knowledge of Application/System capabilities, and to ensure that all communications between project team and other stakeholders are precise.
      • Detail validation of report figures for all report creation projects to ensure that the product is delivered to the stakeholders with accurate data.
      • Maintain timelines and target dates in Microsoft Project.


  • 5 to 8 years' experience as a trainer
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize team activities considering overall business direction while setting realistic and achievable goals
  • Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary to perform the everyday duties of this position.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required especially Microsoft Project and Outlook
  • Experience with Camtasia software for training video creations and ongoing edits
